Garden Wedding in Portland, Oregon
Close family and friends gathered together in this backyard garden in Portland, Oregon to eat delicious finger food by White Pepper Catering, enjoy the sunny skies and most of all celebrate Emily and Ian as they said “I do” under a flower filled arbor. I love small, intimate gatherings like this. They always feel so personal and joyful. Emily and Ian had spent the spring and early summer getting their garden ready and the arbor built.
Emily told me she wanted her flowers to feel like they had come from an English Garden. I used soft pastel hues set off by dark summer greens. Scented garden roses, delphinium, larkspur, phlox and spirea are all flowers that would be right at home in an English flower border. Fruit and berries used as accents brought that feeling of summer home and added lovely texture.
Emily and Ian went to a nearby park for some quiet time together and to have their portraits taken by Terra Lange, who beautifully captured the day and couple.
Back home they gathered under their garden arbor, which I covered in roses and vines. They exchanged vows and then spent the afternoon eating and visiting with family and friends.
Having the wedding in their backyard made including their beloved furry friends easy. I loved making a sweet floral collar for Dottie.
