October Garden Wedding
My Dad has always said that the first half of October in the PNW is beautiful, with fall foliage peaking in the third week, and then the cold and rain set in. Jillian and Ryan had one of those magical sunny days in October for their wedding at Gray Gables.
Dramatic light and the last green of summer gave these two a lovely backdrop for their day. Fall textures were mixed with blush and ivory blooms, accented with fall's favorite Marsala tones. It all felt right at home in the garden and Jillian looked like the heroine from an old Hollywood movie.
Garden Roses 'Helga Piaget' and 'Renee' both smell delicious and their soft colors were set off beautifully by the dark Dahlias, Scabiosa, and Chocolate Queen Anne's Lace. Eucalyptus, Ferns and Jasmine tendrils provided soft and lush foliage. The bridesmaids' bouquets kept to the pale pink and ivory end of the palette, with Roses, Astilbe and lots of greens.
The indoor reception was simple and elegant with lots of candles, greens and blooms on the tables. They danced, toasted, danced some more, and were sent off with sparklers into a perfect October night.
